Translating energy into motion
These kinetic sculptures can tell with rhythm and melody, a dynamic story; Motion is becoming the extra dimension. My sculptures are brought in motion by wind, water or solar energy or by interacting with human beings. The sculpture is never the same. It is constant changing and it is always in a moment of change. I always aim for a non-predictical motion of my kinetic sculptures. Like watching the clouds moving in the sky, or like a campfire you can dream by the motion of the sculptures.
Bert Schoeren studied Industrial Design Engineering at the Technical University of Delft and started after graduation to work as an exhibit designer at the Nemo, Science en Technology Centre in Amsterdam. An interactive museum/theme park where visitors can play interactively with exhibits. The second floor, his area, had the theme Energy. He designed amongst others wind, solar and water exhibits. The first step towards kinetic sculptures.
